Preparation

  1. Invite your guest and get an accurate player count to ensure you download the right game kit.
  2. Read through the Host Task Cards for each act to familiarize yourself with the storyline, and how to facilitate each act.
  3. Print & Prepare all necessary game materials in advance. Avoid spoilers by skipping certain pages or having someone else print them for you.

Setting the Mood

  1. Embrace the game's theme with appropriate décor and costumes.
  2. Play themed music or background sounds to enhance the ambiance.
  3. Prepare a menu of snacks, drinks or meals to compliment the theme!

During the Game

  1. Flow: Make sure the acts flow correctly.
  2. Distribute task cards at the right times.
  3. Ensure players mingle, share secrets, and gossip.
  4. Remind players to embrace their character roles fully.
  5. Hide any of the items ( signage, props, etc.) so they are not revealed before the event.
  6. Set up a Crime Scene: If relevant to the story, set up a mock crime scene after the victim is revealed for a fun photo opportunity.
  7. Vote & Reveal the solution after everyone has completed their final Actions and had enough time to analyze the evidence and interrogate the suspects!
